Valerie Van Tran is a strategy and capital advisory executive with a proven track record in financial markets development, stakeholder relationship management, and strategic growth. She specializes in addressing policy implications and technology applications at the intersection of finance and international development, particularly in the areas of financial inclusion and ESG. Valerie has successfully launched, operated, and advised businesses in healthcare, technology, financial services, and consumer verticals.
Having led Digital Finance advisory transactions at IFC (World Bank Group), her focus was on technical capacity development for emerging markets countries. This encompassed Digital Banks DFI lending, involving product strategy, competitor benchmarking, market analysis, and the development of a credit risk management framework. In the realm of SME Finance, Valerie Van Tran conducted legal framework assessments for supply chain finance in Africa and contributed to the embedded finance strategy for IFC 3.0. Subsequently, she headed a digital financial services partnership for financial inclusion at One Mount, Vietnam's largest digital ecosystem and technology arm of Vingroup, with a consumer base exceeding 10 million.
In her advisory role at Silicon Valley Bank in London, Valerie Van Tran provided strategic finance guidance to Europe's leading technology companies, managing a portfolio with a transaction volume exceeding $500 million. Commencing her career at JPMorgan in the Public Sector practice, she offered counsel to governments and sovereign wealth funds on reserves management and financial stability in both London and New York. During her tenure at JPMorgan, she played a key role in setting up the €750 billion EFSF and $2 billion NSIA.
Valerie graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill as a Robertson Scholar and attended the Master of Public Administration in International Development at Harvard Kennedy School.
